Lois Abromitis Mackin, Ph. D.
Lois is a professional genealogist focusing on American and English research. She has a bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in history and has completed eight sessions of coursework at major genealogical institutes.
As well as her blog at, Lois writes for the Minnesota Genealogist and The Septs. She also teaches about genealogical research and methods, including genetic genealogy.
Kara Ripley
Kara is the Reference and BadgerLink Training Librarian. She has worked at Dept. of Public Instruction since 2010 and has a master’s in Library Science from Indiana University.
Gail Murray
Gail is the Content Management and Outreach Librarian at DPI. She works to spread the word about BadgerLink to schools, libraries and organizations. She has a master’s in Library Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Lee Grady
Lee is Senior Reference Archivist at the Wisconsin Historical Society in Madison, WI. He has degrees in American History and Library and Information Science from UW-Madison. He has been at WHS for 19 years and has a wide range of experience with the Society’s collections.
