As Chairman of the 2005 MCGS Workshop, I'd like to thank the
volunteers who helped make the day a success.
Lois Kuehn created the brochure, mailed them to outlying Libraries, supervised Arlene Brachman, Jo Christian, Doris Durdan, Grace Eells, Peg Hart, Anita Kanitz, Lois Kuehn, Betty Larson,Lois Molitor, Irene Morgan, Darlene Norman, Marguerite Tuesl and Kay Voss in taking them to libraries that are not part of the Milwaukee Library System.
Lois Kuehn also printed all Signs used at the Workshop plus she and Neal Hunger were greeters in the morning and helped participants find where to obtain and eat their lunches. She had help from Beth Arnott, Tana Salaggio and Mary Jerominski as greeters.
Betty Larson took care of the registration moneys, paid bills and produced our profit sheet - as well as handling all mail that came into our PO Box. All of this with her husband not well at all.
Darlene Norman kept track of registration for the Workshop in order to be sure we had enough room for participants in each session, and ensured that we had the correct number of each type of lunch. Darlene also compiled the Syllabus, had it printed and brought it to Serb Hall. She worked with Norma Bruss, Marge Jothen, Kay Voss, Peg Hart, Ruth Juedes, and Pat Walsh at the Registration and Walk-In Tables. Darlene also indroduced Bob Heck.
Kay Dexter did an excellent job of working with Florence Norton to produce a "sell out" at the White Elephant Table!
Glenna Amateis, had the lonely job of Coffee Monitor. We learned
from her that we should have more coffee during the morning hours and helped us avoid paying for coffee that we don't drink.
Anita Kanitz along with her usual crew of Doris Durdan and
Ralph Bielenberg packed up the supplies at the Library, got them into the van, unpacked at Serb Hall and then repacked what didn't sell and return in into the stock at the library after taking an inventory. They were helped by Marguerite Tuisl.
Irene Morgan made arrangements with vendors and other Societies
to rent tables and organized the Sales Room.
Manning Bookstaff, picked up Daniel Schlyter and brought him to
the Workshop as well as introducing him for each of his four lectures.
We also need to thank Kay Drexler, Richard Eells and Neal Hunger for the use of their vans to schlep everything that was needed to put on a
great Workshop.
The help of ALL of these people, made Arlene Brachman look good as
Chairman. We had a Successful Workshop!
Now get ready for our Workshop in 2007 when we will have CYNDI HOWELL, of Cyndi's List as our main speaker.
Signed - Arlene Brachman
